Your Computer Defeats You...Nevermore! May 1, 2007 Corvid Computing, LLC, has opened its doors to serve the computing needs of the community of Gustavus. The company was formed by local residents Nate Borson, Sean Neilson, and Phoebe Vanselow in an effort to meet the growing demand for computer and network consulting in Gustavus. For those who may not know, a corvid is any of a family (Corvidae) of clever stout-billed passerine birds including the crows, jays, magpies, and the raven.
Corvid Computing provides a wide variety of computer, communications, and business services: * Hardware and software sales, installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair * Support contracts and help desk services * Managed applications and networks * Web design and hosting * Content management systems * Data storage and backup * Local area networks, community area networks, and Internet connectivity
In the future, Corvid Computing plans to also offer: * Bookkeeping and payroll services * Computer rental * Printing, faxes, copies * Telephony
Corvid Computing is also currently working free of charge with the local volunteer work group created by the Gustavus Community Network. This work group is focused on bringing broadband internet access to Gustavus. Corvid Computing is located upstairs in the Salmon River Business Center. Their office hours are Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday, 12-4.
